Monthly Archives: March 2007

I recently acquired a fondue pot (no skewers yet) and a blender. One I bought and one was given to me yet they are both the same color of yellow-green magnificence! Having appliances make me feel as if I really have a home. Weird and perhaps a little sad (you know, materialistic), but true.

SpainI changed my image header sometime last week, I think, and I would just like to let you know the story behind the beautiful photo, which is included in it’s entirety.

Last summer my family and I went to Europe for about a month: Iceland, England, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France (which is when Mom, Dad and Chris flew back to the U.S.) and finally Jelly and I went to Spain together for about 6 days. We ended up in San Sebastian, up in the north west for a few days. One of the days we were there, we rented bikes (unfortunately the tandem bike was already rented out) and took an awesome bike trail to this area at the other end of the city near the water. This is where we saw these two sculpture-type figures out on the rocks and this is the photo you are seeing.

Since you ask, most days I cannot remember.
I walk in my clothing, unmarked by that voyage.
Then the almost unnameable lust returns.

Ingrid and I went up to Bayfield and we had such a good time making food, shopping, playing yahtzee, having our unscheduled time (which in reality was scheduled), we took a bath, we did yoga… it was great. Then we had to drive back, of course, in a snowstorm. Yikes.

Tonight, though, I feel melancholy because of thinking this week of spring break is basically done for me (I work straight through the weekend and through the beginning of the school week) and I’m just sad. I still have 2 months of this semester which is a tough thought to stomach. I am not enjoying so much work from school.

On the other hand, stop and think: is college the “it”? No! In fact, I am making too much of this college business in my head… I don’t have to be perfect. In five years I probably won’t even remember my GPA, but I will remember (and perhaps brag) about that one semester when I took and overload of credits while working and maintaining a long distance relationship :) I hope my kids are impressed. hehe

I had a wonderful 24 hours with my good friends Becca and Suzi. We ate, tasted good wine, talked, danced, took photos, saw Music and Lyrics (very romantic…made me miss my Eefer), went midnight shopping, slept in, took photos, ate more good food, went shopping, took photos, and had a wonderful dinner again then drove back to the cities (I went with them also). It was amazingly fun…

Then Saturday night a bunch of us went to see dueling pianos on Grand Ave in St Paul at a restaurant called Bonfire. We requested Bohemian Rhapsody and dedicated it to “Weston got a raise” along with a $4 tip… hmmm something doesn’t seem right there.

Sunday, I hung out with my good friend Erin and we went thrift shopping at the best thrift store in the cities: The Unique Thrift Store. I bought 2 pairs of [really cute] shoes and a really cute orange middle eastern outfit and a vintage t-shirt all for $21! Then we watched Vanity Fair (not as good as I thought it would be) and V for Vandetta (why doesn’t he take off his mask!?!) then we went to bed around 2am…

…and woke up at 550am to go to work (Erin did) and drive home (me). I dropped my car off at Dales for an oil change, tire rotation, and windshield wiper replacement and jogged home at 715 in the morning. I can’t remember the last time I jogged in the morning. I took a 4 hour nap once I got home, showered, organized my apartment, ate breakfast, and here I am at 130 in the afternoon… blogging away.

Enjoy!

I went to my parents house yesterday, went to drive across the field and fifty feet into cranking on the accelorator in first gear, I was stopped totally and completely. It was not fun: my dad had to pull me out with the tracktor going backwards, between trees. My poor car! I guess I learned something… if it doesn’t seem to be working, stop right away!

Wherever you may or may not be in life, just be there.
Someday you may miss where you are even if you dislike the position now.
